Farm Commons Shares insights on the SBA Paycheck Protection Program in Presentation

Rachel Armstrong with Farm Commons offered an online presentation to discuss the SBA Paycheck Protection Program on April 6, 2020. You can view or listen to the session at the link below.

Rachel provides the following background:

Is the Paycheck Protection Program (or PPP program) a big opportunity for farms to receive a forgivable loan to cover payroll costs? YES. Farms ARE eligible to apply and this is potentially a powerful resource for farm businesses to stay afloat in difficult times. But there are issues.

Farm Commons provided an online session to address some of the following questions:   Who can apply? Which employees can they pay with these funds? Is it really forgivable, and what does a forgivable loan mean tax-wise? How do farmers apply?  What is uncertain, despite it being up and running? When should farmers apply?
