CFAC Operations & Finance Director / Owner Black Bear Soups & Trust Land Farm

Ellie is currently the Community Food & Agriculture Coalition Operations & Finance Director and is also the owner of Trust Land Farm (2023) and Black Bear Soups (2015). In 2024, Ellie will be lead farmer of Clark Fork Organics (CFO), founded by Kim Murchison and Josh Slotnick in 1991. Since 2011, Ellie has spent her warm seasons growing produce with small-scale sustainable farms from the Bitterroot northward to the Mission valleys. Exploring how to create resilient food systems, she earned an M.S. from the University of Montana in Environmental Studies. Ellie has grown produce for her business Black Bear Soups on a series of leased farm sites. Looking to the future, she has been working with Corner Farm Village, a project spearheaded by Dr. Neva Hassanein, and the nonprofit Trust Montana to support the creation of Montana's first community land trust farm.
