Laura and Alex Duvelius

Non-Profit Executives

Laura and Alex Duvelius own and manage Duvelius Family Farms; a multi-use farm specializing in rare breed livestock, and heirloom-only vegetables. We also have recent plantings of native and other fruit trees and shrubs including: chokecherries, honeyberries, pears, plums, apples, cherries, and gooseberries. The long-term goals for the farm are as follows: maintain a closed loop system, raise enough feed for our livestock on our farm, decrease water and energy use through innovative projects, and move to rotational grazing. We are the recipients of a LOR Foundation grant, and an NCRS grant (with another request pending). In our off-farm jobs, Laura is an executive in a rare disease research institution called the Amyloidosis Research Consortium, and Alex is an Associate Director of Prospect Research at Children's National Health Foundation. We have four beautiful children (7, 20, 21, 22), 2 who reside in Montana, one in Colorado, and one in Oregon. We are also baseball coaches for our small town of Whitehall, Montana and very active in our community of farmers and friends.
