MSU Researchers Investigate Grazing, Cover Crops

More research funded by Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education being done by MSU researchers and their grad students that benefit organic farming. There will be an update on this project incorporating sheep grazing on cover crop and vegetable fields on July 25 at Towne’s Harvest Garden from 9 AM to Noon.

Trestin Benson, graduate student in animal and range science at Montana State University, left, and Devon Ragen, research associate in the College of Agriculture at MSU, have been studying integrating sheep into agriculture systems and examining the benefits or drawbacks to having the sheep graze before or after planting and harvest in crop cultivation.
