Quivira Ranch 101 Workshop

On October 5-6, the Quivira Coalition will be hosting a Regenerative Ranching 101 weekend in partnership with the Mannix Brothers Ranch in the Blackfoot Valley near Helmville, MT.

Who should come:

1. Anyone who is interested in a career in farming or ranching and may be interested in applying for a Quivira 8-month regenerative ranching apprenticeship in 2020.

2. Anyone who wants to or plans to work with farmers and ranchers in your job. It will help you understand the day to day decisions ranchers make, how a ranch operates, farming and ranching vocabulary and the on-the-ground realities of ranching.

3. Anyone who is interested in understanding the principles of regenerative agriculture and how some farmers and ranchers are innovating to build carbon in their soil, coexist with predators and improve habitat for wildlife and grazing lands for livestock.

The weekend will be hands-on and outside. Food and lodging provided but space is limited so sign up soon!

We'll learn how to put up electric fence, basic pasture and grazing management tools, demonstration of low-stress stock handling, discuss building relationships with agencies and people who share your land values, tour a fish ladder project on the ranch and so much more.

The weekend is free of charge but limited in the number of people we can accommodate. If you would like more information or would like to register, contact information is listed below.

If you are interested in attending or have questions, please contact:
