Integrating Crops and Livestock Workshop
July 25 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm MDT
Join agriculture experts from Montana State University (MSU) and the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) to discuss “The Impacts of Integrating Livestock into Cropping Systems on Soil Health and Crop Production.” This FREE workshop will be held at MSU’s Towne’s Harvest Garden in Bozeman, MT on Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a tour of the Towne’s Harvest Garden as well as engaging discussion about the “Feedlot on Fields” research and integrating sheep and other ruminants into small-scale vegetable farming systems. Learn how integrated crop-livestock production systems may provide more sustainable alternatives to traditional conventional methods and extensive tillage practices and improve soil health and quality. The workshop is free and light refreshments will be provided. Registration is requested, and you can visit www.ncat.org/events to reserve your spot.
